Delete your account in the app
You can delete your CheckPick account and associated account data at any time.
Open CheckPick and go to:
Settings › Account › Delete account & data
Follow the instructions shown in the app.
Depending on your sign-in provider, you may be asked to authenticate again before deletion can be completed.
Google sign-in
If you use Google sign-in:
- Your CheckPick account in Firebase Authentication is deleted
- You may be asked to sign in with Google again to confirm your identity
Removing CheckPick from your Google account settings alone is not necessarily the same as deleting your CheckPick account.
Use “Delete account & data” in CheckPick or contact us using the method below.
Sign in with Apple
If you use Sign in with Apple:
- Your CheckPick account in Firebase Authentication is deleted
- CheckPick will attempt to revoke the applicable Sign in with Apple authorization as part of the supported deletion process
- You may be asked to authenticate with Apple again to confirm the request
Removing CheckPick from your Apple account settings alone is not necessarily the same as deleting your CheckPick account.
Use “Delete account & data” in CheckPick to complete the CheckPick account-deletion process.
Local inspection data
Your vehicle inspections, photos, notes, scores, saved vehicles, and related inspection information are stored locally on your device rather than on Kocat Studio servers.
During the account-deletion process, the app gives you the option to remove local app data from the device.
If you choose to remove local data, this includes:
- Saved inspections
- Inspection answers
- Inspection photos
- Notes
- Scores
- Vehicles you plan to see
- Seller or appointment information stored in the app
- Locally stored entitlement or pass status
Because this information is stored on your device, Kocat Studio cannot remotely erase local inspection data from a device that is no longer accessible to you.
Exported PDFs and other files
When you export a PDF, the app saves it to your device’s Documents folder and opens it in a PDF viewer. From there, you can share it or save a copy elsewhere.
On iPhone, PDFs saved in the app’s Documents folder are removed when you delete the app. On Android, PDFs saved to the device’s Documents folder remain until you delete them. Copies you shared or saved elsewhere remain where you put them until you delete them.
Deleting your CheckPick account or deleting local app data does not delete PDFs you exported.
You must delete exported files yourself from the device, cloud storage service, computer, or other location where they are saved.
Secure-storage data
To help prevent the free full inspection from being granted again simply by reinstalling the app, CheckPick stores a value indicating whether the free inspection has already been used.
On iOS, this value is stored using the iOS Keychain. On Android, it is stored using Google Block Store.
This value does not contain your inspection records, photos, notes, email address, name, or other inspection content. Depending on the operating system, device manufacturer, and backup or device-transfer settings, secure-storage data may remain after the app is deleted or may be restored or transferred as part of a supported device backup or device-transfer process.
What is deleted
When an eligible CheckPick account deletion is completed, the following is deleted from the systems controlled by CheckPick:
- Your CheckPick Firebase Authentication account
- Associated CheckPick authentication credentials or identifiers that are removable through the account-deletion process
If you choose to remove local device data, applicable locally stored CheckPick inspection content is also removed from that device.
What may be retained or remain
The following may remain after CheckPick account deletion:
Exported files
PDFs you previously exported remain as described in “Exported PDFs and other files” until you delete them yourself.
Store transaction records
The Apple App Store or Google Play may retain transaction, purchase, refund, tax, fraud-prevention, and related records according to its own legal obligations and retention policies.
Kocat Studio does not control deletion of those store records.
Advertising information
Google AdMob may retain advertising-related information according to Google’s policies, applicable privacy choices, and legal obligations.
Diagnostic information
Previously collected Firebase Crashlytics diagnostic information may remain for the applicable retention period before being automatically deleted or aggregated.
Information required by law
Limited information may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, or protect legal rights.
Purchases and account deletion
Deleting your CheckPick account does not automatically refund a purchase.
Refunds are handled according to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play.
Deleting your account may also remove locally stored entitlement information.
Eligible purchases may still be restorable through the applicable store where CheckPick supports purchase restoration.
If you cannot access the app
If you cannot access CheckPick but need to request deletion of your account, email contact@kocatstudio.com.
Whenever possible, send the request from the email address associated with your CheckPick account.
Use a subject such as:
CheckPick Account Deletion Request
We may ask you to verify that you control the account before completing the request.
How long deletion takes
Deletion initiated directly in the app is generally processed immediately or shortly after successful identity verification.
Requests submitted by email will be handled within the period required by applicable law.
Technical, fraud-prevention, legal, or third-party service-provider records may remain for limited periods where permitted or required.
