Who we are
Kocat Studio (“we”, “us”) operates the CheckPick app (the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy explains what information is handled when you use CheckPick, how it is used and shared, and the privacy choices and rights that may be available to you.

Information that stays on your device
The following information is stored locally in the app on your device and is not sent to Kocat Studio’s servers:
- Vehicles you select
- Inspection answers and results
- Notes
- Inspection photos
- Inspection scores
- Cars you plan to see
- Seller and appointment information you enter
- App settings, such as your selected country
When you export a PDF, the app saves it to your device’s Documents folder and opens it in a PDF viewer. From there, you can share it or save a copy elsewhere.
On iPhone, PDFs saved in the app’s Documents folder are removed when you delete the app. On Android, PDFs saved to the device’s Documents folder remain until you delete them. Copies you shared or saved elsewhere remain where you put them until you delete them.
To help prevent the free full inspection from being granted again simply by reinstalling the app, CheckPick stores a value indicating whether the free inspection has already been used.
On iOS, this value is stored using the iOS Keychain. On Android, it is stored using Google Block Store.
This value does not contain your inspection records, photos, notes, email address, name, or other inspection content. Depending on the operating system, device manufacturer, and backup or device-transfer settings, secure-storage data may remain after the app is deleted or may be restored or transferred as part of a supported device backup or device-transfer process.
Information we collect or receive
Account information
Creating an account is optional.
If you sign in with Google or Apple, we may receive:
- An account identifier
- Your email address
- Your name, if you choose to share it
When using Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your regular email address.
Authentication is handled using Google Firebase Authentication.
Purchase information
When you make a purchase, the Apple App Store or Google Play processes the payment.
The store may tell the app which product you purchased and the current status of that purchase so that CheckPick can unlock or restore the appropriate features.
Kocat Studio does not receive or store your full credit card or payment card details.
Advertising information
The free version of CheckPick uses Google AdMob.
Depending on your device, settings, location, consent choices, and applicable law, AdMob may process information such as:
- Advertising identifiers
- IP address
- Approximate location derived from IP address
- Device and operating-system information
- App information
- Ad impressions, clicks, and other ad interactions
On iOS, access to the device advertising identifier is subject to Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission where required.
Diagnostic information
CheckPick uses Google Firebase Crashlytics to help diagnose crashes and improve app stability.
Crashlytics may collect information such as:
- Crash logs
- Stack traces
- Device model
- Operating-system version
- App version
- Technical information related to the crash
We use this information for troubleshooting and stability improvements, not to identify you personally.
How we use information
We use information handled through the Service to:
- Sign you in and maintain your account
- Display basic account information
- Provide paid features
- Verify and restore purchases
- Show advertisements in the free version
- Diagnose crashes and improve app stability
- Respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests
- Prevent abuse and fraud
- Comply with applicable law
We do not use your information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Advertising and privacy choices
iOS
On iPhone and iPad, CheckPick follows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency requirements where applicable.
You can review or change tracking permissions through:
Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking
If tracking permission is denied, you may still see advertisements, but advertising identifiers used for cross-app tracking will not be available to the app in the same way.
Android
Android users can manage advertising-related privacy controls, such as deleting or resetting the advertising ID, through the privacy and advertising settings provided by Android and Google.
Available controls may vary depending on your Android version and device.
Advertisements are removed while a 30-Day Car Hunting Pass is active and for users with a Lifetime Pass.
How we share information
We share information only as necessary with service providers that help operate CheckPick.
These currently include:
Google LLC
Services may include:
- Firebase Authentication
- Firebase Crashlytics
- Google AdMob
- Google Play Billing on Android
Apple Inc.
Services may include:
- Sign in with Apple
- App Store payment processing on iOS
These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
We may also disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid government request, or where reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, Kocat Studio, or others.
Sale and sharing of personal information
Kocat Studio does not sell personal information in exchange for money.
Certain advertising activities involving advertising identifiers or similar information may be considered a “sale,” “sharing,” or use for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising under some U.S. state privacy laws, even where no money is exchanged for the information.
How to opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising
- On iPhone: deny or turn off tracking for CheckPick in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking
- On Android: delete or reset your advertising ID in your device’s privacy or ads settings (for example, Settings › Privacy › Ads)
- Or email contact@kocatstudio.com with “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the subject line
Your U.S. state privacy rights
Depending on where you live, whether the applicable privacy law applies to Kocat Studio, and the circumstances of the processing, you may have rights concerning your personal information.
These rights may include the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information are collected, used, or disclosed
- Request access to personal information
- Request deletion of personal information
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of certain sales, sharing, or targeted advertising activities
- Obtain a portable copy of certain information
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights
These rights may be available under laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) and other applicable U.S. state privacy laws.
Categories of personal information that may be processed
Depending on how you use CheckPick, categories may include:
- Identifiers, such as account ID, email address, or advertising identifier
- Commercial information, such as purchase and entitlement information
- Internet or electronic activity information, such as advertising interactions
- Approximate geolocation derived from IP address by advertising providers
- Device and diagnostic information

We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Exercising your privacy rights
To exercise a privacy right that applies to you, you may:
- Use “Delete account & data” in the CheckPick app for account deletion
- Use the device and advertising privacy controls described above
- Email contact@kocatstudio.com
For account-related requests, we may need to verify that you control the email address or account associated with the request.
We will respond within 45 days, or within any shorter period required by applicable law.
Where applicable law allows an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, we may request evidence that the agent has authority to act for you.
Where applicable law provides a right to appeal a decision concerning a privacy request, instructions for submitting an appeal will be provided with our response.
Data retention
On-device inspection data
Inspection data stored locally remains on your device until you:
- Delete it within the app
- Clear the app’s local data
- Delete the app, subject to operating-system backup and restore behavior
Exported PDFs are handled as described in “Information that stays on your device.”
Account information
Firebase Authentication account information is retained until the account is deleted, subject to limited retention required for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, or service-provider operations.
Purchases
The Apple App Store or Google Play maintains transaction and purchase records according to its own legal obligations and retention policies.
Advertising information
Advertising data processed by Google AdMob is retained according to Google’s applicable policies and settings.
Crash reports
Crash and diagnostic information collected through Firebase Crashlytics may be retained for up to 90 days or as otherwise configured or required by the service provider.
Children
CheckPick is intended for people evaluating or purchasing used vehicles and is not directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, contact contact@kocatstudio.com.
We will take appropriate steps to review and delete the information where required.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information handled through the Service.
Inspection records, photos, and notes are designed to remain on your device rather than being uploaded to Kocat Studio servers.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International data transfers
Kocat Studio is based in the Republic of Korea.
Our service providers, including Google and Apple, may process information in the United States, the Republic of Korea, or other countries where they or their service providers operate.
Where required, such processing is subject to applicable legal safeguards.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our Service, legal requirements, or data-handling practices change.
If a change materially affects how personal information is handled, we will provide notice through the app, our website, or another appropriate method where reasonably required.
The effective date shown at the top of this page indicates the version currently in effect.
